Visitors' Centre

The Cooperative opened the doors of its Visitors' Centre at the Valpelline warehouse in 2003 to provide information on its business activities.

The Centre consists of three sections: one dedicated to its history, a second one to the region, and a third one to the milk processing methods to make Fontina. Videos, an image gallery, and a small museum provide the visitor with a grasp of all the aspects that characterise the production of Fontina.

This follows a visit to the warehouse, with a detailed explanation of how the cheeses are made manually, one by one, from the moment they enter the warehouse to the perfect maturation stage, once the cheese is perfect and ready to enjoy.

HOW TO GET TO THE VALPELLINE VISITORS' CENTRE

From the Milan/Turin-Aosta motorway: follow the signs to Gran San Bernardo. After exiting the tunnel continue along the Regional Road (SR 28) towards Bionaz.

From Aosta: follow the signs to Strada Statale (SS 27) towards Gran San Bernardo. Once in Variney, continue along the Regional Road (SR 28) towards Bionaz.
